I have the Dual Action 5'' CG polisher that I used after washing and claybarring an '06 SUV. Using a few passes of a cross hatch pattern with v36 did measurably improve the clearcoat finish with only the one step polish. Add on a wax and sealant and you're gonna appreciate the results.

I'm a newbie to this and kinda scare doing it. I still see a lot of swirls in the paint under sunlight, but the white pearl color came out quite decent. It's not so dull anymore but I do wish the swirls would be gone. I used v36 and v38 with orange and white quantum hex logic pad. Maybe I did I wrong? ?

If you grab the torq polisher and go easy on your paint with the hex pad and polish, you get easy professional results. I hadn't even glazed yet in the picture.
