How to detail the interior
Where should you start? Here are the Chemical Guys steps to make your car’s interior spotless.
- To begin, toss the trash and remove all personal items from your vehicle so you have full access to areas like cup holders and door panels.
- Next, vacuum the interior to remove loose dirt and debris. Be cautious when vacuuming leather or suede seats to avoid scratching them. Use a soft brush to gently agitate dirt and grime from cracks and crevices, ensuring the vacuum is nearby to capture the dust.
- After vacuuming, clean the panels using an all-purpose cleaner like Nonsense, a pH-balanced, clear, and odorless cleaner. Spray the product onto a brush and agitate the surface to deep clean textured materials like vinyl. Wipe off the excess with a microfiber towel to reveal a clean surface.
- Repeat this process throughout the interior, including the dashboard, center console, and door panels.
- If you have leather interiors, apply one of our leather care products to remove filth while nourishing your leather. If you have vinyl, rubber, or plastic, use a dressing like Natural Shine using a microfiber applicator. Natural Shine provides a natural look while conditioning and protecting surfaces. It's dry to the touch and won't leave behind an oily residue.
- Finally, clean the carpets using Fabric Clean, even if they don't appear dirty, to remove light dust and odors. Spray Fabric Clean on the carpet and agitate with a brush before wiping it clean with a microfiber towel. This will revitalize the scent of your interior and give it a fresh, clean feel.
