We wanted to design and build something that would reinvent the category.  An easy-to-grip brush that wouldn’t slip out of your hands when it gets wet. A comfortable design that would be a pleasure to use. A unique creation that would encompass sleek design and ergonomic comfort. You asked for a brush with more bristles than ever that would clean even faster. We asked for your feedback and we did our best to make it happen because at Chemical Guys …. It’s our customers that make us great!

Gentle yet strong! The New Chemical Guys Designed Raccoon Brush delivers some serious cleaning power. The Raccoon is a stocky, medium sized mammal with a broad head, pointed snout, and bushy tail. The Chemical Guys Raccoon brush is a gray handled premium detailing brush engineered around the rather cool and unique design of a raccoon’s tail … Why a raccoon you ask?  Because they are simply awesome!

Why did you guys call the brush the “Raccoon”? The raccoon is just cool. The raccoon also happens to be cute.  Let’s face it, when thinking about awesome animals the raccoon is quite awesome.  They appear small and friendly, but they are actually quite aggressive (especially chubby, hungry raccoons). We took an office poll on which animal we liked the most resembled our brush, and everyone voted for the raccoon (except Jeremy who was too memorized by the brushes handle to generate a name). Our cool new brush really resembled a raccoon’s tail. Much like the raccoon, our brush is friendly and safe, yet tough and aggressive on wheel grime and brake dust. Hence the all new brush was named “The Raccoon”.

Raccoon Note: No raccoons were harmed or even touched during the design and manufacturing process of this brush. Please do not use a raccoon animal to clean your wheels. Although they look friendly, raccoons are actually quite aggressive and hostile.   The Brush has a unique raccoon tail shape.  It has a full 11 inches of elongated bristles. The unique tip design and elongated body make it easy to fit in tight spaces and wheel crevices.  The thick cleaning brush starts by using premium cleaning bristles ½ inch in length that gradually extend to 2” inches in length.

Just the Tip.  We know you’ve heard it before, JUST THE TIP!  Everyone knows that any job worth doing is worth doing right.  All too often the tips of brushes are left bare or without coating. Some brushes find a cheap inexpensive solution to bare metal tips like coating them in vinyl.  We felt that was just NOT good enough.  Chemical Guys designed our own scratch proof air-cushioned tip. The raccoon brush comes with our first ever air-cushioned tip designed to make wheel and rim detailing easier and safer for all wheel finishes. The first tip designed to be bendable, pliable and squeezable so it fits into tight spaces without scratching or scuffing.

All New Designed Textured Handle with Tough-Guard - The ergonomic easy-grip handle is made of a chemical resistant and comfort-grip rubber.  Even wet the handle is easy to grip!  The unique design of the brush gives the detailer maximum comfort with a unique finger grip and knuckle guard design.  The handle flares out as it gets closer to the bristles. This unique Chemical Guys design provides the customer with superior comfort and safety. The 3 ½ inch diameter guard protects hands from cleaners and degreasers. The brush side of the handle is flat to allow for the most cleaning surface possible while the unique design of the handle prevents you from hitting your hand and fingers against the spokes and edges of wheels.

½ inch-2 inch “Pine Cone Design”- Nature has made some very cool things. One of our favorite is the design of the pine cone. We had a few sitting in the office and liked the shape. We also found the design characteristics of the pine cone quite suitable for a wheel brush. Having a brush that started off at the tip with a ½ inch abundance of bristles made it ideal for cleaning tough spots in tight places.  As you insert the brush deeper, it would enable you to clean wider holes and spaces as well. To us, that was a true winner.

Many of the brushes we tested didn’t bend. The ones that did bend only bent once. When you tried to bend them back to shape, they often times broke. Be good to your Raccoon - Proper use is just as important as proper maintenance.  Be sure to clean and rinse out your brush after each use.  Be sure to give your Raccoon Brush a good cleaning before storing. Rinse your Raccoon Brush clean with some warm water and your choice of cleaner or degreaser to remove left over dirt and grease that may be left on the brush.
